Our History —

Where We’ve Been

Cornerstone Church began with four families who moved into the West End with a heart to establish a purposeful and hospitable presence in the community. Our goal was to build the sorts of relationships through which friends become family. We wanted our lives to intersect with those of our neighbors, serving them through care and concern and ultimately sharing the hope of Christ.

Over the years, our circle grew. We went from a core of eight people to twenty-five; and each year, that number increased. We purchased homes in the neighborhood to establish presence and longevity. It was then that we began to consider what it might look like to form a worship gathering in the West End, strengthening the spiritual bonds of the community. We began to ask what it might look like to plant a church here. Cornerstone Church is the answer.

Our Future —

Where We’re Headed

Every neighborhood within a 2-mile radius of Cornerstone currently hosts a thriving collective of at least 20+ members who are intentionally serving, gathering, and connecting with one another and their immediate neighbors. They provide leadership and direction to address needs and take initiative in inviting others to join them in the work.

Throughout this process, new leaders are regularly identified as they demonstrate faithfulness and fruitfulness. Once their gifts have been recognized, they’re intentionally developed. This, in turn, broadens the scope of service and strengthens the bonds of the community. As this process continues, the members of Cornerstone will present an increasingly vibrant local witness, raising people’s expectations for God to move and furthering the spread of the Gospel.
